Viewpoint Toolbar

The new Viewpoint Toolbar V2 has increased speed and performance and offers many new features that will change the way you search the web. The Viewpoint Toolbar checks for the latest product enhancements and automatically upgrades your application with new features and improvements as they become available. You’ll be notified of upgrades via a Notification icon that appears on your toolbar. Just click the icon to get the latest information on application improvements and enhancements. Different icons will display based on the type of information we want to communicate.

The Viewpoint Toolbar displays pictures within the Search Results tray of all the websites that correspond to a particular search. After entering a keyword or phrase, a preview image appears in the tray for every text result that's displayed in the page below it. So now searching works like your mind works: with pictures as well as with words.

Seeing Visual Search Results
Simply click on the Search Results tab on the toolbar. A tray will deploy with icons corresponding to your text search results. Scrolling over those results and holding for a moment brings up a larger image of the webpage.

Image and Multimedia Search
Increase your searching options with specific channels for Image and Multimedia (Audio and Video) search on the Web. Click on the 'Search the Web' tab on the left-side of the toolbar and choose a search channel from the menu.

Search Page On/Off
Now that text and image results appear within the Search Results tray, advanced users can decide to turn off the search results landing page entirely. Turning the search page on and off is a simple selection from the Options menu located under the Viewpoint logo in your toolbar.

Search Tray On/Off
If the search results tray takes up too much room on your monitor, you can turn off the auto-deploy of the tray by going to the options menu located under the Viewpoint logo on your toolbar.

Thumbnail Previews on Results Page
Now you can see thumbnail previews of your search results directly on the results page. Just enable this feature to take a look.

Right-Click Searching
You can conduct a search on any word or phrase within any webpage simply by highlighting the word(s) and right-clicking. Choose VIEWPOINT SEARCH and automatically run a search on that word or term through the toolbar.

Search Results Customization
Choose how to view your search results. Choose from one of three options - Text Only, Text and Thumbnail, and Thumbnail Only - from the View menu located at the bottom of your Search Results tray.

The Viewpoint Toolbar gives you the power to receive Comparative Search results in the Search Results tray when using an alternate provider's webpage or toolbar. Comparative results display in addition to the alternate search results - they do not block them - allowing you to compare and receive the best possible outcome every time.
This feature can be turned on and off from the Options menu located under the Viewpoint logo in your toolbar.

The Viewpoint Toolbar is the only search toolbar that lets you customize its look and functionality. Choose from an expanding list of customized toolbar skins that come with their own sets of features. Patriotic? Choose our LIBERTY skin. Celebrating warm weather? Choose our SPRING or SUMMER skins. Want something cool but strictly business? Our CLASSIC skin is the perfect choice. At Viewpoint, we want to make you comfortable in your own skin. Watch for new and exciting skins in the coming months offering cool new features and looks.

Take a moment to customize your toolbar!

Choose from one of the skins available with
your Toolbar:

1. Go to the Options menu (found under the Viewpoint
logo) and choose Skins.

2. In the Dialog box, choose the skin you want and
click OK. That’s it!

Want to mark a page within a complex search so that you can easily find it again? Not a problem. Use the DogEar corner on the thumbnail preview in the Search Results tray, and it will be “DogEar’d” for viewing later. Every time you run that search or come across that result in a similar search, the Viewpoint Toolbar will remember your preference. Your thumbnail will be marked, signaling that this was a valuable search result.

To Make A DogEar
Move your cursor to the upper right corner of the thumbnail preview. A DogEar 'corner' will appear. Click on the corner and a DogEar will be created, reminding you this is a site you want to come back to later.

To Turn A DogEar Into A Bookmark
Click on your DogEar'd website and press the + button on the VISUAL BOOKMARKS tab in the toolbar. Now the DogEar'd page has been copied to your VISUAL BOOKMARKS tray.

Our new breakthrough pop-up blocking technology called the Pop-Up Slammer not only prevents pop-ups from interrupting your online experiences, it also provides automatic counter-measures to prevent new blocker-circumvention technologies from delivering pop-ups.

And while the feature effectively stops all unwanted pop-ups, you can still view and interact with pop-ups that have been quarantined in the Slammer tray, but only if you want to. Not all pop-ups are evil, so our Pop-Up Slammer lets you see pop-ups that may be of use.

Turning On The Slammer
The Pop-Up Slammer defaults to "On" for each site you visit. If you don't want to block pop-ups on a certain website, just click the On/ Off button on the pop-up tab while you are on that site. The next time you return, the Slammer will remember your preference.

You can also choose to turn off the blocker altogether by unchecking the pop-up option in the Options menu, which can be accessed from the drop-down located under the Viewpoint logo.

Visiting Pop-Ups In The Slammer
Click on the Pop-Up Bin tab. A tray will appear that contains the last 5 pop-ups that have been blocked during your current activity online. To see one of the pop-ups, just click on it. To erase the contents of the Slammer, click on the EMPTY BIN button to the left of the Slammer tray. At the end of your online session, all the pop-ups quarantined in the tray will be automatically eradicated.

Pop-Up Preview
If you choose, you can now see pop-ups briefly as they're being caught. The new Pop-Up Preview feature displays a postage-sized preview of the pop-up before it's placed into the Pop-Up Slammer. This feature can be turned On/Off in the Options menu located under the Viewpoint logo in your toolbar.

The toolbar also allows you to store thumbnail ../images of your bookmarked web sites within the Visual Bookmarks tray, and within folders in the tray, so that going back to your favorite site is as simple as the click of a button. No more confusing and complicated lists of Favorites. Visual Bookmarks allows you to see and organize your favorite sites in a way that’s incredibly easy to use.

To Create A Bookmark
Simply click on the + button next to the VISUAL BOOKMARKS tab. The website’s icon will be instantly stored within the VISUAL BOOKMARKS tray.

To See Your Bookmarks
Click on VISUAL BOOKMARKS tab. A tray will deploy that contains preview ../images of your bookmarked pages. To see a larger image of the icon, just scroll over the icon and hold for a moment until the larger image appears. To visit a bookmarked site, simply click on its icon.

To Organize Your Bookmarks
Within the VISUAL BOOKMARKS tray, choose MY BOOKMARKS and then ADD FOLDER. In the Dialog Box that appears, name the folder you've added. Now you can save and move bookmarks into your customized folders for easy navigation.

Import/Export Bookmark
You can now export all of your bookmarks -with or without ../images - from one PC to another by selecting EXPORT from the options menu. The selection creates a .vte file that can be emailed to another PC and simply imported into another Viewpoint Toolbar using the IMPORT option.

Bookmark Management
Version 2.0 allows you to refresh your bookmarks' thumbnail ../images with the click of a button. The functionality provides updated views of all the stored pages. Additionally, you can sort bookmarks by Name or Date by clicking on the toggle button at the bottom of the Bookmarks tray.
